Dr. Christina Pardo, Director
Dr. Christina Pardo, MD MPH is a community aligned, physician advocate who is currently the Director of Health Equity and Vice Chair of Quality & Innovation in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at SUNY Downstate.
She attended Howard University as a pre-medical student and became actively involved in social and disparity issues in underserved communities. She graduated with honors with a B.S. in Biology in 2004. She then attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She also completed a Master’s in Public Health in International health at Boston University. Passionate about Women’s health she decided to pursue a career in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Her desire to work with and for underserved and immigrant populations led her to do her residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn NY. Following residency training she joined the faculty at Stony Brook University where she co-founded the Global Women’s Health program. Her interests in health disparities, social determinants of health and equity led her to return to SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University where she has started a new Division of Health Equity in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and serves as the Vice Chair of Quality Improvement & Innovation.
