We embrace and reflect the diversity, identity and culture of the community we serve.

The Division of Women’s Health Equity is a part of the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

It works towards the reduction of women’s health disparities, especially those in underserved settings both locally and globally, through equity driven training, research, policy and service.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Research & QI

Based in an academic medical center, our Division is committed to interdisciplinary research and we collaborate regularly with institutional partners including the Department of Family and Community Medicine and our School of Public Health.

Health Education

We are committed to promoting health education in our community. As part of our outreach, we host community events and post health information on social media.

Anti-Racism

Racism is a root cause of health inequity. We are committed to fighting racism with education and activism. We host a monthly Anti-Racism book club. To find a complete list of our recommended watch and reading lists, click here.
